The Peruvian Navy (MGP) has decided, in a surprising way, to put on sale light missile cruiser CLM-81 BAP Almirante Grau, the last gunboat cruiser that has served active in the Navies of the world. The reference value for the sale of the former flagship of the Peruvian Navy amounts, according to private tender No. 001-2022-MGP/DBIT, to only 4,180,000 soles, equivalent today to 1,112,520 dollars.
After having served in distinguished service, the former CLM-81 BAP almirante Grau light missile cruiser went into inactivity in an emotional ceremony held at the Marginal Pier of the Callao Naval Base on September 26, 2017. The flagship was taken by the frigate Lupo FM-53 BAP Montero, which was renamed FM-53 BAP Almirante Grau from that day.
